I remember, before I did my yoga teacher training, practicising online yoga classes and meditations all the time! It wasn’t until I dived deeper that I realised how important it is to be with a teacher for guidance and the real benefits of practising with others. So I thought it might be helpful to share a few of the key benefits you might experience practising in a group with Awakind Yoga.
MEDITATION
- Enhanced Focus and Stillness: The presence of others and the shared intention can create a stronger sense of stillness and focus, making it easier for you to concentrate and stay present during meditation.
- Increased Motivation and Commitment: The shared commitment of a group can provide encouragement and accountability to help you show up regularly for your practice, even when you may not feel like it, and this can make it easier for you to integrate it into your daily life.
- Deeper and More Transformative Experience: The collective energy and shared intention of a group can create a more powerful and immersive meditative experience. The safe and supportive environment can also help you explore yourself at a deeper level and potentially experience more profound insights and transformations.
- Community and connection: Meditating in a group can foster a sense of connection with the community and a deeper understanding of the shared human experience which can lead to increased empathy, compassion, kindness and a stronger sense of belonging.
- Access to Different Themes and Types: Each week there will be a new meditation theme or type for you to experience.
YOGA
- Community and Connection: Group yoga can provide a social outlet and a chance to make new friends who share a passion for yoga. The shared experience of practicing together can create lasting bonds and a sense of community.
- Increased Motivation and Discipline: The shared energy and enthusiasm of a group can be motivating and inspiring. Being part of a group can also provide a sense of external accountability, encouraging you to show up for class and commit to your practice.
- Skill Development and growth: You can be offered guidance and personalised adjustments or alternatives by your teacher that can increase your confidence and deepen your understanding of the practice.
- Enhanced Energy and experience: The shared energy of a group class can create a more powerful and uplifting experience, boosting energy levels and promoting a sense of collective focus. The safe and supportive environment can also enhance the meditative aspects of yoga, creating a more profound sense of peace and well-being.
- Cost-Effectiveness: Group classes are more affordable than private sessions and the Awakind Yoga studio offers the option of a 5 week class pass that further reduces the cost, encouraging a consistent practice.
- Access to Variety and Different Styles: You have the opportunity to experience hatha yoga and yoga with weights, keeping your practice fresh and exciting.
